You’ve probably heard of—or been to—the Derby Party, one of Denver’s most anticipated spring events. This weekend Denver will be an action packed city with the Denver’s original Derby Party happening right in Downtown Denver. The celebration of the Kenetucky Derby not only is a happening event, but also benefits the Sean ‘Ranch’ Lough Memorial Scholarship. The event will be held off 14th Street between Curtis and Champa in the Performing Arts Complex, 1:00 to 6:30 p.m.
This year, start your day of horses and large hats with a few classic cocktails at The Brown Palace. Here are a few that we will be indulging in this Saturday as we prepare for the grand Kentucky Derby.
- Colorado Sidecar at Ship Tavern with Stranahan’s Whiskey, Grand Marnier, Simple Syrup & Lime Juice.
- The Palace Collins in the Atrium is a refreshing spring cocktail of Nolet Silver Gin, St-Germain Liqueur, lemon and soda.
- French Martini in Churchills with Ciroc French Vodka, Cointreau, Champagne, and pineapple juice finished with a Chambord sinker.
Whatever you choose to do this Saturday for the Denver Derby Party, enjoy watching the horses and show off those big hats!
