Celebrate Earth Day this April with The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa, proud to be one of Denver’s most eco-friendly hotels. We’re always improving our practices to ensure our footprint on the planet is conscious one.
Core green initiatives at The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa include:
- Raising awareness of sustainability in our guests and associates
- Reducing our consumption of water and energy
- Increasing our waste diversion rate through recycling, and compost
- Creating a culture of sustainability in the way we live, operate, and innovate
Since applying these eco-friendly hotel practices, we’ve successfully reduced electricity usage by 24% per room, reduced water usage by 48% per room and increased waste diversion by 3.9 times.
As a Green Key Certified lodge, some of our key features include a hotel-wide composting program, single stream recycling, a sustainable seafood menu, seasonally and locally grown foods, Artesian well water used in guest rooms, bicycle rentals and more. As part of our vision, the Brown Palace Hotel and Spa is driven by appreciating yesterday, celebrating today and inspiring tomorrow in the most environmentally thoughtful way possible. If you happen to visit our green hotel in Denver this Earth Day, April 22, stay a little longer to check out the Doors Open Denver event April 23-24, an annual celebration of Denver’s built environment and design. The two-day event allows residents and visitors to tour iconic buildings across the city. Also be sure to visit some of the greenest spaces in the Denver area—our parks. From Civic Center Park to Lakewood Heritage, many of our parks will host their own Earth Day celebrations.
