During the winter months, the average daily high temperature in Denver is 45 degrees Fahrenheit, with highs sometimes hitting the low 60s. This could be considered downright balmy compared to other cities, but it’s still low enough to catch a chill. Here at The Brown Palace, our preferred way to warm up will always be our decadent Afternoon Tea in the Atrium.
Afternoon Tea is a time-honored tradition best enjoyed in the company of friends and family. Escape from the outside world and embrace this afternoon social event, first made popular by Anna, Duchess of Bedford, in the early nineteenth century. The nine-story Atrium, with its elegant décor, provides the perfect atmosphere for indulging in sweet homemade scones, savory finger sandwiches, genuine Devonshire cream, and delightful conversation. Naturally, the tea is the main event, and our English tea house in Denver features an impressive selection of black, green, herbal, and specialty blends.
The Brown Palace hosts Afternoon Tea daily from 12pm to 4pm; space is limited and reservations are recommended. If you prefer to enjoy your tea after hours, we also offer a menu of infused cocktails, such as the Lady Grey 75 (with Lillet Blanc, Palace Grey Tea Syrup, Lavender, Fresh Lemon Juice, and Champagne).
